I’m Tatum
I’m Tatum
I’ve been the top student, the med school intern, the perfect-score test taker, the curriculum designer, the horse-jumping champion, and the person people come to when their brilliant kid is unraveling over the Common App.
I graduated from Harvard, got a perfect SAT math score, crushed the MCAT, GRE, and LSAT, and then chose education over medicine, because I realized I cared more about helping students thrive than memorizing pharmacology and negotiating insurance giants and red tape. I specialize in working with high-achieving students who are used to being the smartest person in the room, and are quietly panicking because that’s no longer enough. Many are neurodivergent or 2e. Most are deeply driven. All of them need someone who can match their brains and their bandwidth.
I built an SAT course for neurodivergent learners. Designed a gifted curriculum now used in top private schools. I’m fluent in ASL. And I’m currently getting certified in executive functioning and ADHD, because I believe in backing empathy with real expertise and I am a lifelong learner. In the last 5 years alone, I had over 250 educational hours. This work is personal. I’m twice-exceptional myself. I know what it’s like to feel both capable and completely stuck. That’s why I don’t do one-size-fits-all advising. I build smart, strategic, individualized plans, and I make sure students actually feel good while we do it.
I like a well-placed joke, I send reminders that work, and I don’t flinch when a student tells me they’ve written “literally nothing” the night before something is due. We start from where you are and move forward, fast: with a future attainable agreed-upon goal and accountability toward reaching it.
